BEWARE: Delivery was over 2 hours late - delivery window was 2:45-5:15pm on a Saturday and the delivery truck arrived around 7:15pm. The only way I was able to track my delivery was through the online portal, which kept getting pushed further and further back. I then called customer service around 5:15pm and they told me that I had to wait an additional hour or reschedule for another day. When I asked for reimbursement , the customer service rep. told me that they had no system to file any reimbursements. Once the delivery truck finally arrived, the movers were professional and completed the delivery. After the delivery, I spoke with the warehouse manager who only offered a $25 reimbursement (delivery fee was $89). Overall terrible customer service and the company needs to reconsider logistics planning because there was still one more delivery after mine. I am very disappointed because I had a positive experience shopping at AFW but waiting an additional 2 hours for a scheduled delivery is unacceptable.

I do NOT recommend. Advertised as 100% solid wood however, there are stickers on the back that say Industrial Particleboard. Poorly made. We purchased the furniture about a year ago and most of the pieces came arrived with problems. We thought that we would be getting a better quality piece of furniture by spending a little bit more. We purchased the bedroom set (minus the bed frame), a desk, and a TV stand. The Chest does not match the dresser and the nightstands....it has a different pattern so much so that it looks like it is part of the set. The drawer slides on the chest and dresser are digging grooves into the drawers....one drawer has a cut almost all the way through it and we have not used it that much. On of the barn doors on the TV stand won't open or close without force (the other side opens and closes smoothly like it is supposed to). The wood is actually peeling on top in one area like it does on older laminated pieces of furniture. I was told that it is part of the distressing and trust me, it is not. We wanted to exchange the TV stand that we paid almost $1,000 for because a piece of furniture that is a few months old, that has not been in sunlight and has not had anything set on top - it is currently in a spare bedroom and has not even been used at all, should not peel and crack like that and the barn doors should open and close properly. That is something that should be tested before they sell it especially before they sell it to someone out of state. They refused to replace it because again, I was told that it was part of the distressing. They could clearly see in the photos that I had sent that it is not part of the distressing but nonetheless, they refused to honor the warranty. I don't know if they give everyone a hard time with the warranty or just out of state people. Anyway, I would be very careful about buying anything from American Furniture Warehouse or the Parota Furniture. We had problems with the other furniture that we purchased from American Furniture Warehouse - the couch cushions went flat after less than a year and we are small to average sized people. We had a problem with the Dining Table Set, the $300+ rug started to fuzz after just a couple of months. Their quality of furniture used to be good but now it is horrible and they refuse to stand behind what they sell which says everything about a company.

Wait until you see the quality of furniture you are buying -and how American Furniture Warehouse tries to get out of the warranty especially if you are out of state. Look at their reviews before buying! Most of the furniture we bought, all had problems in less than one year - sliders on drawers are cutting into the wood, couch cushions are flat, the 'solid wood' is cracking and peeling, the coloring on the chest for the Parota set doesn't match the coloring on the dresser and nightstands, the kitchen table which is supposed to be solid wood has shiny spots where you rest your arms and wrists on the table and you can't wash it out and you can't condition the rest of the table to make it all shiny so the table just looks dirty all of the time....the chairs are the same way where you sit, it has rubbed a shine into them, etc.. They did cover a couple of things but the amount they refunded us was hardly anything and not even close to the amount we would need to fix the problems. We wanted a couple of pieces to be replaced and they refused so we felt we had no choice but the accept what they offered and there were some things that they made up in order to get out of the warranty on a couple pieces. Then, we were basically told by American Furniture Warehouse that we could donate our "gently used" furniture if we are not happy with it. If we could afford to buy and donate almost $10,000 worth of furniture a year, we would have purchased top of the line furniture, real leather, etc., or we would have had someone custom make our furniture so that it would last a lifetime. That would be cheaper than buying new furniture every year or every two years for the next 3 or 4 decades. We shopped at AFW for the last 30 years since we were 20 and we will never shop there again. We will be building the rest of the furniture we need and for whatever we need to replace that we bought from AFW. Aside from the time, it is actually less expensive to build your own (it cost approx. $500.00 for the materials to build a Queen Bed Frame) and we know that what we build will last a very long time and they will be pieces that can be passed down.

I do NOT recommend especially to those living out of state! American Furniture Warehouse used to have decent furniture. For 30 years we had purchased furniture from them....both for personal and for business and we never had a problem. Last year, we ordered almost $10,000 worth of furniture and most of the furniture came with a problem or, started wearing out after just a couple of months. I have seen a lot of complaints regarding their warranty and sadly their warranty is pretty bad. The $320.00 rug that we had purchased showed quite a bit of wear and the fibers were coming out after just a couple of months and that rug was not even walked on every day. They only warranty rugs for 48 hours. The seat cushions are going flat on the couches and loveseat. We are not big people and are of normal weight and we rotate the cushions but they wore out in less than a year. Our old couch never went flat....not even after almost 15 years. One other item we purchased was a 70" TV Stand....supposedly solid wood according to the description. One of the barn doors did not open properly from day one....that is how it arrived. It has to be forced pretty hard to open and to close. Also, the top of the TV stand is cracking and peeling in one area. I was told that that is part of the distressing.....it is NOT. If I could post a picture somewhere, people would agree that cracking and peeling wood is not part of the distressed look of the furniture. We have 6 pieces of the Parota SOLID WOOD (supposedly....the top of this piece acts like it is laminated the way it is cracking and peeling) and this is the only spot that it is doing this. So....that is not how the furniture was made like AFW has told me. I wanted this piece replaced because of the two major problems and they refused. They refused to replace it.....the key words in their warranty is ....at AFW's Sole Discretion.....so BEWARE. On another piece of furniture, the wood is discoloring where it is being touched....either by hands, arms, and on the chairs when you sit in them. AFW would not warranty that because they said that sunlight and long-term exposure to liquid will cause bubbling and warping. I have absolutely no idea where in the world they got any of that from......I never said anything about the dining set bubbling and warping....it was about the discoloration that was happening. Nothing was ever spilt on the table or chairs.....at all so there was absolutely ZERO exposure to liquid. Also, the table is not in direct sunlight. If AFW were going off of the photos.....that was just daylight and shadows in the photo....not direct sunlight....the sun was actually on the other side of the house when I took the photos. So they were mistaken somehow and they never actually read what I said the problem was and just outright denied any warranty on that based on something that was completely wrong. The dresser and chest when you open some of the drawers, the metal sliding mechanism is rubbing on the side of the wood and eventually over time, is probably going to cut all the way through the drawer. They did offer a small refund for a few problems....like the drawers but not enough to actually come close to having the problems fixed. If we fixed the problems ourselves, the amount we were given wouldn't even cover the cost of the materials let alone the amount of time it would take to fix everything. We used to have Broyhill and it lasted for almost 20 years. When we moved and sold it, it still looked brand new. The furniture that we have now is less than a year old and it looks pretty bad. I was told by AFW warranty department if I am not happy with the furniture, I can donate it. That just topped off the experience. If I could afford to spend $10,000 a year on furniture.....I would not have shopped at AFW. We even paid for what we thought was better quality furniture but it seems like it only cost more and was not better built. After 30 years...we are done with AFW. We will never buy from them again. We cannot afford to spend that much on furniture and have it not even last one year. We still have three more bedrooms and a basement and we needed a small kitchen table for our kitchen and we have decided to just make the furniture ourselves. It will actually cost less....my husband already made one bed frame and it was half the cost of the Parota bed frame sold at AFW, we know it is made from solid wood, we tried to match the color of the Parota and the color my husband mixed together is actually a little richer and we like it better than the Parota wood color, and I know the bed frame he made will last for decades which is a lot more than I can say for the almost $10,000 worth of furniture we purchased at AFW. I can no longer recommend this company.....look at their reviews....and I especially do not recommend this company to anyone not living within driving distance to one of their stores. If you are buying from out of state, you are at their mercy and will most likely be out a lot of money and will just have junk.

🤔☹ I have no idea how in the world American Furniture Warehouse was on the most trustworthy companies in America or on is on Forbes Best Customer Service for 2024. We shopped at American Furniture Warehouse for 30 years - both for personal as well as business. We also had recommended AFW to several people / clients over the years. We never had a problem with any of the furniture we had ever purchased until now. We are currently living out of state and purchased almost $10,000 worth of furniture and we had a problem with just about every piece. Some of the furniture came with a problem / problems and other problems developed within the first few months. We had purchased the Parota Bedroom Set (minus the bed frame), Desk, 70" TV Stand, the Tuscany Dining Set, 2 faux leather couches / loveseat, and a couple of rugs. First of all, when we went into one of their locations to pick out our furniture because we were in town, we first walked around the store and then we found a sales associate. We asked her if she could walk back around with us and write down everything so that when we get back home, we can place the order. She told us that we can walk around and write down the numbers and then we can text all of the information to her. We did walk back around the store and wrote down all of the numbers and then we left. When we got home, we called the main store in Englewood and place the order with someone else. In hindsight, that was a sign to just leave because we spent almost $10,000 on crappy furniture. We have some pieces of furniture that are over 20 years old that still look new which is not what I can say about the furniture that we purchased from AFW less than a year ago. The Parota TV stand's barn door gets caught on something & has to be forced to open & close. On top of the TV stand, there is an area that is peeling & cracking. The description for the Parota says that it is solid wood however, the top appears to be laminated - solid wood should not crack and peel like that. I was told by the warranty department that the cracking and peeling is part of the distressing....it is NOT part of the distressing & I wish I could post photos. This piece has actually not been used yet & is sitting in a spare bedroom to be used as a dresser when we get the room set up. The tag is still actually attached. The curtains are closed so it has not been exposed to sunlight at all & nothing has been placed on top. We wanted it replaced like their warranty states but were only offered $50.00....we paid $900.00. The slides on some of the dresser & chest drawers are digging into the sides of the drawers - one drawer it has almost cut a line all the way through. The dining table has shiny areas on the edges where your arm / wrists rest on the table and it can't be cleaned off or buffed out and the rest of the table cannot be buffed to match the shine on the edges. The table always looks dirty and it cannot be fixed. The dining chairs do the same thing....the seats have worn shiny spots from where people have sat. (If you rub the wood anywhere on the table and on the chairs,, a shine will develop that cannot be undone. We basically will have to rub the entire table so that the sheen looks the same.) The dining chairs are also wobbly. The cushions on the couch & love seat have almost gone flat in less than one year (we are not big people). Stitching on the couches is coming out. One of the legs is nicked - movers I am guessing because it was turned inward when it was set up so we didn't see it right away. The rug ($320.00) was underneath the kitchen table & started wearing funny after just two months & the fibers started to come out. I was told that they do not offer the same warranty out of state as they do in state.....I would highly recommend to anyone out of state to be careful when ordering from American Furniture Warehouse because of this. You better thoroughly inspect everything before the delivery guys leave and good luck if you have problems with the furniture after that. I was also told that some damage was caused from the sun (none of our furniture is in direct sunlight), that it was exposed to liquid for an extended period of time (nothing has ever spilled on any of the furniture & we used a table runner, placemats & coasters on the dining table). They just basically said whatever in order to get out of the warranty on some of the items. They are the ones who can choose to warranty your furniture or not and from the reviews I have seen, I am not the only one who is not happy. When a company doesn't stand behind what they sell, that is the time to find another company, find a local independent furniture maker - you might spend a little more up front but you will have real, solid wood furniture that will last a lifetime instead of having to replace furniture after a year or two - you will end up spending more in the long run that way, or....there are so many youtube videos out there, make it yourself. When you have been loyal to a company for 30 years and never had a problem and then when you do have a problem, they don't want to stand behind what they sell, that is not good customer service and that is not a trustworthy company. Also, I was told that I can always donate our gently used furniture. If we could afford to donate $10,000 worth of furniture that is less than one year old, I would not be as mad as I am. That snide comment did not help the situation either.
